First impressions when entering the Tropical Villa are delightfully breezy thanks to the vaulted ceilings accentuated by an open concept kitchen/living area. From this central space are doors to 3 satellite bedrooms, as well as large windowed doors that open onto a private deck surrounded by palm garden. Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom, and views of the nearby beach can be seen from the terrace.
Balinese teak furniture and vibrant Caribbean colors are featured throughout the Tropical Villa, and you’ll be happy to note, the home comes fully furnished!
Finca Los Monos is a privately funded garden on Isla Colon, the farm spans the island from coast to coast with stunning views, both eastward toward the archipelago of Bocas del Toro and westward toward the mountainous mainland, with the turquoise Caribbean in between. The farm offers guided tours to educational groups focused on bird watching, wildlife viewing and plant identification. With an abundance of fruits and flowers, the 20 acre Finca Mono Botanical Garden is a sanctuary for a great array of wildlife. The following is a lovely description from the owner and developer of the garden and Tropical Villa:
“A 2km trail winds through a mature garden planted amongst big native woods. Your guide will help you to identify many wonderful and unique birds. The colony of Montezuma Oropendulas and their nests is one of the highlights on your walk, keep a watch out for Toucans. The family of more than 35 Howler Monkeys are normally observed and occasionally a frisky group of white-faced capuchins make an appearance. There are two known roosts of the beautiful and rare, Western night monkey. Three toed sloths are common in the Cecropia trees (Two toeds less common) and a spectacled Caiman is normally seen close up in the pond. A keen eye is needed to spot the Iguanas high in the under-story. Rarely, a Northern tamandua can be seen nestled in one of the giant fig trees.”
